with Angel
Paris. In a small side street, just around the corner from the Place de Clichy, Romina and Mia (also known as Angel), two trans people from Ecuador live. Illegalized and socially marginalized like many others in France, they work as prostitutes in the Bois de Boulogne.
Mia is a former boxer who chose prostitution in order to survive and support the family back home. We also meet the exuberant and ironic Romina, whose sex work enabled her to pay for gender reassignment surgeries and to live in a small apartment with her dog.
Both light-hearted and tragic, switching from flirtatiousness to misery, from optimism to fatalism, the stories of Romina and Mia present two extraordinary and strong individuals in their daily struggle for survival, acceptance and justice in a society which rejects them as "illegal migrants", "prostitutes", "gender outlaws" and "freaks".
